ποΈ Recruitment Overview β What is UPTET All About?
UPTET 2026 is not a direct recruitment but the compulsory qualifying exam for teacher posts in Uttar Pradesh. As per the Right to Education Act and NCTE guidelines, every candidate must clear UPTET 2026 (or any valid TET) to be considered for Assistant Teacher jobs in government, aided and recognised schools.
UPESSC is conducting UPTET 2026 for the first time after the 2023 Act. The exam has two papers:
- Paper-1 β Class 1 to 5 (Primary)
- Paper-2 β Class 6 to 8 (Upper Primary)
You can apply for one or both papers in a single form. Once you clear UPTET with minimum qualifying marks, you get a lifetime certificate that remains valid forever β no need to appear again! This certificate is accepted in all UP state schools, local bodies, aided institutions and even recognised private schools that have No Objection Certificate from the government.
UPTET 2026 also brings major transparency β the entire process is online, OMR-based and computerised evaluation. (198 words)
